Manifesto

about us

Making your message unmissable

We’re a specialist animation and design studio, using our limitless creativity and technical flair to deliver work that really wows. From character creation and brand development to unforgettable storytelling, we produce exactly the kind of loveable art that audiences really engage with.

How do you know we’ll be any good?
Simple. We’ve got decades of combined experience behind us, and our radically different way of working gives us a global pool of talent to choose from. The end results speak for themselves. Just see our projects for proof.

Story first, technology next.
We’re different because we dare to put the story centre stage. Yes, we use next-generation creativity and software to make amazing work, but only ever when it’s appropriate. For us, the priority is to truly understand your story then tell it however works best. Never about vanity and ego trips; always about end results.

Positively better Enough with the doom and gloom. Even when we’re tackling serious topics for a client, we produce inspiring and uplifting creative work that resonates deeply with today’s doom-weary viewers.

Ethically robust
From our green credentials and inclusive recruitment to the meaningful projects we choose to work on: everything we do is designed to help make the world a better place, not just pay our wages.

Pleasurable business
We’re lucky enough to love what we do, so working with us doesn’t feel like work. Of course, we’re communicative, professional and process-led, but we’re also refreshingly easygoing and fun.

why us?

Hybrid Specialists
Having so many talented creatives to choose from means we’ve got every design and animation discipline covered. Right now, our particular specialism is hybrid work: creating stunning visual stories by skillfully blending animation with live action. It’s clever, it’s current and it’s different, and it’s one more way to wow.

Virtually the best studio in the world
It’s not just our work that’s creative – the way we work is too. Anything but your standard studio, we’re a dynamic collective of like-minded professionals: visionaries, artists and marketers spread across several locations. Don’t worry, we’re tech-savvy team players and jet setters too, as happy to jump on a plane as we are on a Zoom. Always offsetting our carbon, of course.

Educators
With this much know-how and talent under one virtual roof, it would be a shame not to share our expertise. Today, we’re seen as thought leaders in our creative field, and we enjoy nothing more than spreading the love of all things design and animation. We write blogs, give talks and contribute to international conventions – always doing our bit to encourage others and promote excellence in our sector.

Our goal is to share positive and inspiring storytelling by bringing top-notch productions to the world and working towards changing the industry for the better.

If you want to join our flight, you could:

  • Hire our services through the Studio (we are expert designers, animators, visual effects people, sound designers, editors…basically a bunch of creative ducks).
  • Bring us a project to co-produce that aligns with our vision(check our manifesto page).
  • Commission us to create the best content for your project. We are expert storytellers with a broad range of skills and techniques brought by our artists from all around the world.
  • Collaborate with us on our ‘original content’ projects in our Lab section (drop us a line and we can tell you more about it: contact@flyingduckstudiolab.co.uk).
  • Learn creative skills or how to combine them with ethics. Simply ask for our amazing educational content and workshops.
  • Come visit us in our co-working space.

We are flying high, breaking all conventions, and incorporating our extensive knowledge, resilience, and positivity into all of our creations.
